More and more, our collective society is embracing the multi-faceted and complex experiences, embodiments and expressions of gender and sexuality. However, there is a long way to go until our youth who are sorting through gender identity and expression questions feel understood, supported, and free to explore and develop their most authentic selves. It can be hard to know how to navigate this process with your children, and as a gender specialist I am here to walk with you every step of the way.
I have specialized training, experience and knowledge working with gender expansive, gender nonbinary, and transgender children and adolescents. As a therapist, I provide support in building gender resilience, managing gender dysphoria, and exploring the full range of feelings and challenges that can arise while navigating extended families, schools, and larger communities.
Each child/ adolescent, their family and surrounding community is unique, and therefore I work closely with all involved to best understand and develop supportive strategies for your child. In working with parents, I provide psychoeducation and support in how to talk to your child about gender, how to support your child’s development and resilience, and help you think about and make difficult decisions. I provide extended support as well in social transitions and medical interventions by speaking with other providers relevant in your child’s life such as teachers, school counselors, social workers and medical providers.
I am a member of Mind The Gap: an extensive consultation group made of gender specialist; gender affirming providers in the Bay Area.
